Publicist
1. Description: The Publicist functionally reports to the General Manager Dragone, Macau, and works directly in conjunction with the CMO of Franco Dragone Entertainment Group. The Publicist will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of public relations strategies in conjunction with the City of Dreams marketing team. He/She will assist the CMO by coordinating and assisting in the planning, development and implementation of the strategic and tactical marketing plan for The House of Dancing Water. In addition, the Publicist will be responsible for securing all synergies with our partners and local marketing contacts, and will maintain an ongoing positive relationship with local, regional, and international media outlets. 2. Roles and Responsibilities: - Develop a positive collaboration with our local partner in all media and marketing efforts. Ensure alignment at all times with Dragone brand strategies and approach. Utilize the input of and gain approval from the Resident Artistic Director on any artistic ideas and use of the artists for marketing purposes.
- Manage assigned multi-cultural media markets. Synergize and leverage current relationships and develop new relationships in assigned media markets to generate positive news coverage of the COD Show
- Collaborate with the City of Dreams marketing team to help generate creative news opportunities, news stories and ideas; write satellite advisories. Pitch creative story ideas to generate positive news coverage of the COD Show in assigned markets (and others as needed).
- Advise and assist Artistic, Show Support, and Technical Sr. Management to produce Press Events, and on-site Broadcast News Remotes. In conjunction with the COD Marketing team, manage PR projects and VIP PR activities, events at the Theatre, media visits to the Theatre.
- Work with the CMO to determine what is newsworthy and what is not from a PR perspective and helping to shape a “non-news” event into a newsworthy event.
- Produce and coordinate the editing of relevant b-roll tapes and video news releases
- Manage a bi-month Global Report for PR leadership in Macau
- Develop and manage budgets for assigned PR projects.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Dragone with news organizations (as needed), and as internal PR liaison with internal partners.
3. Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with emphasis in marketing, journalism, communication or public relations
Experience - 5-8 years experience in entertainment marketing, PR and communication fields preferably in an agency, theme park, production or movie industry setting.
- Excellent computer skills
- Creative writing ability a must. Effective writing skills and understanding of visual and theatrical aesthetic in marketing materials
- Fast learner who is comfortable with new topics and quickly embrace new challenges
- Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and on Public and Statutory Holidays
Other Skills - Excellent communication, verbal and written(concise and compelling) including presentation skills
- Fluent in English (Written, Spoken), Cantonese, and Mandarin required. Fluency in a fourth or more languages is strongly desired.
- Motivated with a strong bias for action.
- Aggressive passion for marketing,PR and communication.
- Strong Charisma, and excellent people skills.
- High interest in entertainment.
