Job nature

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – Commercial (Cost Control), the incumbent will be responsible for the effective budget control, contract procurement activities and post-award contract management of designated work packages, with the objective that assigned contract packages will be delivered within budget and managed in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Working with the consultant QS to ensure that all construction and relevant costs are within the pre-determined budget.
• Recommend alternative cost-control / value engineering solutions for the projects, and ensure a thorough review of cost estimates, cost plans and cost reconciliation.
• Oversee cost administration of main contractors and sub-contractors and related contract administration.
• Monitor changes and advise on impact to the overall construction budget.
• Keep detailed records of potential claim items and implement preventive measures for minimizing future contractual claims and disputes by main contractors and sub-contractors.
• Manage and review tender documents prepared by consultants.
• Lead the consultants and engineering teams to conduct evaluation and negotiation of tenders, and make award recommendations that will represent value-for-money.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High Diploma/Degree or above in Quantity Surveying or related fields
• MRICS/MHKIS or equivalent qualification
• Min. 10 years (of which not less than 5 years since professionally qualified) relevant project experience in the quantity surveying or contracts / commercial management discipline
• Client/consultant experience in Hotel/resort development projects in Macau is highly preferred
• Experience in leading and managing design and QS consultants
• Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese
• Macau ID holder and immediate availability preferred
