Assistant Director, Support Services

Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting the Director of Support Services in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness in all Public and Back-of-House areas and supervising the Wardrobe operations while on duty.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
• Quality monitor the cleanliness of all Public and Back-of-House areas
• Ensure that cleaning activities do not disturb Guests, or administrative staff during regular working hours Interviews and selects all Housekeeping staff
• Inspect all Public and Back-of-House areas daily
• Conduct daily Pre-Shift meetings for all on-duty staff in the absence of the Director
• Provide on-going training to the Support Services Staff
• Complete special Support Service projects as assigned
• Respond to all Public Area emergencies to ensure clean-up
• Ensure that all Support Services equipment is properly utilized and maintained
• Ensure that all Public Area Bathrooms are cleaned every 30 minutes and Staff facilities every two hours
• Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relations with colleagues
• Perform additional duties as directed by Director of Support Services
• Make appropriate suggestions and recommendations to Director for the general improvement of the Department and Hotel Premises
• Fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language
• Polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented
• Attend meetings and training as required by Superior
• Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of established policies and procedures
• Interact with guests actively soliciting feedback

• College Degree or comparable experience of similar capacity preferable
• Minimum 3-7 years of in working experience
• Strong organization skills
• Good English, Cantonese and Mandarin language skills
• Detailed knowledge of working practices of housekeeping
• Detailed knowledge of cleaning and caring for luxury finishes and fabrics
• Strong administrative skills
• Ability to cope with pressure
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Capable of preparing reports and presentations in English
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacity in Asia
• Able to make decisions within policy
• Independently and proactively without strong guidance
• Good interpersonal skills required. Interacts mainly with colleagues and occasionally with guests
• May face difficult situations that require modifications of methods or techniques
