Job Description
Laxino is seeking a talented SQL Server/Oracle DBAs that has proven experience in data modeling & database design, tuning/optimization, and operations. Successful candidates will have innovative and unconventional approaches to systems architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability and scalability knowledge of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations and networks.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities to work in concert with software engineers and development managers to plan, architect, scale, and implement data-driven services that will provide the highest service and availability levels to our customers.

Qualifications
Essential Skills

• Proven capabilities in data modeling & database design
• Strong ability to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure
• Ability to work independently and self-motivate
• Excellent skills to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management
• Engineering, tuning, and maintaining database systems
• Proactively scaling and plan for future growth
• Developing detailed designs and specification for the use of new database features
• Understanding of software design and development principals
• Firm belief in teamwork and being an enthusiastic team player

Experience Requirements

• 3 - 5 years' experience as an SQL Server/Oracle DBA; experienced with large-scale, massive concurrent, highly available distributed MSSQL and/or Oracle Systems is preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience in SQL programming
• Experience in at least one scripting language (i.e. Ruby, Perl, etc), automating manually repetitive tasks
• Strong Windows/UNIX skills — preferably Linux

Education

• Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science or a related field
