Position Summary:
 
The Host is accountable for attending to an assigned area to ensure the highest level of Food and Beverage service delivery and guest relations through well developed food and beverage skills, knowledge and experience, in accordance with City of Dreams Macau vision, values and objectives.  Support is provided to the food and beverage operation by assisting in the development and coordination of lower level employees
 
Primary Responsibilities:

 

1. Guest relations

  • Establishes immediate eye contact with guest
  • Greets all guests at restaurant entrance, seats them and promotes  positive customer relations
  • Takes control and maintains reservations where applicable
  • Communicates all customer feedback to manager and supervisor
  • Promotes repeat business by recognising VIP's and regular guests
  • Maintains cleanliness of menus, bill folder and entrance
  • Communicates clearly and effectively to ensure guests needs are met and handles guests queries and complaints correctly
  • Always take responsibility for ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Maintain self and the environment in all areas ensuring highest standards of presentation at all times

2. Managing self

  • Conduct work as a team with other staff to exceed guest expectations
  • Work with initiative to seek and offer assistance as required from team members or supervisors
  • Act as coach to other employees passing on skills, knowledge and techniques for performing tasks and work behaviours
  • Maintain positive relations with other staff and departments
  • Participate in training and other activities to facilitate high team performance
  • Use initiative to lead the team to complete required tasks

3. Technical

  • Have thorough knowledge of menu and presentation standards and sound knowledge of cooking/preparation techniques
  • Prepare and assemble orders in sequence and make final check before service
  • Apply food and beverage service techniques correctly at all times, serving menu items with enthusiasm
  • Arrange food and beverage attractively according to the outlet concept
  • Take orders ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with outlet concept and making appropriate suggestions to enhance guest enjoyment.
  • Maintain working order of equipment, work areas, storage areas, fittings, fixtures, furniture and operating systems
  • Communicate effectively to know allocation/section, specials etc for service
  • Prepare equipment, station, stock, floor for service
  • Prepare mis-en-place to meet anticipated demand and operating standards
  • Maintain back up supplies for anticipated demand
  •  

 
Experience:
  • Interest in food and beverage
  • Customer service and/or hospitality experience essential
Education:
  • Certificate or above qualification is an advantage
  • Relevant training in food & beverage is preferred
